Suggest Treatment For Recurring Strep Throat Infection in A Child

My 6 year old has had 4 strep throat infections in the last 4 months. Her WBCs are 16.5, absolute neutrophils are 12375 and absolute monocytes are 1205. Her Hgb and Hct are slightly high and her strep type A came back with only slight growth. On her most recent doctor visit, they detected swelling at the thyroid. She is seeing an ENT next week. Is there any concern for malignancy based on the test results I have written?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned but the WBC would be high because of the repeated infections.

It should return to normal range when the infections resolve.

The results on indicative of infection in light of the history given.

I hope this helps
